Currently, we are looking for an In-House Legal Advisor (Data Privacy & IP) to join our team in Cyprus (Larnaca).

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal professional to join our in-house legal department. The successful candidate will combine broad legal knowledge with strong specialization in GDPR and data protection compliance, supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive privacy framework.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing and implementing a complete GDPR compliance framework, including corporate and intragroup data protection policies, data retention schedules, internal procedures, and governance documentation.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate intragroup policies and agreements related to data protection, including data processing agreements (DPAs), joint controllership arrangements, standard contractual clauses (SCCs), and records of processing activities (RoPA).

  • Coordinate with internal departments to implement the GDPR framework and integrate data protection requirements into day-to-day business processes.

  • Provide ongoing legal oversight of the implementation process to ensure alignment with EU GDPR requirements and applicable local data protection laws.

  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes related to privacy and data protection and advise management on required actions or updates.

  • Maintain and update standard contract templates in line with changes in GDPR legislation.

  • Experience with AI regulation and the legal implications of AI-powered products and GDPR compliance will be an advantage.

  • Prepare and review a wide range of corporate documents, including meeting minutes, resolutions, transfer deeds, powers of attorney, statutory forms, and other corporate records.

  • Provide end-to-end legal support for changes in shareholder composition, including drafting and reviewing the required documentation, conducting legal analysis, coordinating the registration of changes with relevant registries, and updating corporate records accordingly.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts; ensure that contracts comply with applicable laws, internal policies, and company standards, adapting them to the specifics of each transaction; analyse legal risks embedded in contractual conditions and prepare risk mitigation recommendations.

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex IP and technology licensing agreements and software agreements.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis in response to requests from management, including review of applicable local and EU legislation, case law. Prepare internal legal opinions (Memos) setting out the findings of the analysis, legal conclusions, and practical recommendations

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure the timely completion of tasks and the legal integrity of all business processes.

  • Work with external GDPR consultants and interact with government authorities and supervisory bodies to fulfil compliance obligations.

Required Experience

  • Solid knowledge of GDPR and proven experience drafting GDPR policies and intra-group documents, including hands-on experience supporting GDPR audits and data protection assessments.

  • Knowledge of IP and corporate law and demonstrated skills in preparing corporate documentation; strong command of contract law, including drafting and adapting agreements to legal and business requirements.

  • Practical skills in legal risk assessment and the development of risk mitigation recommendations.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal analysis of legislation and prepare well-reasoned legal opinions.

  • 3.5–5 years of legal experience, preferably gained at a large company or law firm, with a demonstrated focus on GDPR and data protection; experience in IP and AI will be considered an advantage. Experience with multi-jurisdictional groups will be an advantage.

  • Fluency in English (B2 level or above); knowledge of Greek will be an advantage.

  • University degree in Law
